ETHICS

TESS JEAN is a slow fashion brand based in Vietnam, where founder and designer, Tessa Smith, works from her in-house studio in Ho Chi Minh City. Her first collection was produced with a small local factory and is in stock ready to ship. Deciding to pursue a more sustainable, slow fashion approach, all subsequent pieces are designed and sewn by Tess, ensuring mindful, curated collections based on quality finishes and fabrications.

FABRICS

Tessa sources high quality deadstock fabric from the local markets, testing it for shrinkage and quality before make. She also sources sustainable materials in small quantities from China and Japan such as Tencel, hemp, linen and GOTS cotton.

PACKAGING

All garments are carefully checked before being wrapped in soft tissue paper and sent in water, tear, and puncture-resistant paperboard mailers. Made from 100% recycled paper, there is no plastic packaging involved.

A NOTE FROM TESS:

"I don’t believe in disposable fashion, so aim to create consciously with quality and longevity in mind. Every stage of the design process is carefully considered. From the selection of sustainable deadstock fabrics and natural fabrics, through to meticulous garment fitting and checking quality at every point. Finally by sewing made to order, I can ensure that overproduction and waste is controlled. It’s important that my pieces are made to stand the test of time and become forever wardrobe pieces."
