FABRIC & TRIM REQUIREMENTS
ALL SIZES
STYLE A – Long Brim
• Main fabric: 92 cm / 1 yd (based on 138 cm / 54” wide fabric)
• Block fusing interfacing: 112 cm / 44” (based on 90 cm / 35” wide interfacing)
• Optional brim structure (fusible interfacing): 25 cm / 10”
STYLE B – Short Brim
• Main fabric: 80 cm / 32” (based on 138 cm / 54” wide fabric)
• Block fusing interfacing: 92 cm / 1 yd (based on 90 cm / 35” wide interfacing)
• Optional brim structure (fusible interfacing): 25 cm / 10”
TOOLS:
For topstitching the brim, an adjustable guide foot or magnetic seam guide can be helpful, but isn’t essential. Alternative methods are shown in the video tutorial.
Use a size 90/14 needle for medium-weight fabrics, or 100/16 for heavier fabrics.
FABRIC SUGGESTIONS
This pattern is designed for medium to heavy-weight woven fabrics such as cotton drill, canvas, cotton twill, or denim.
The final look will vary depending on your fabric and interfacing choices. Softer fabrics with lighter interfacing will create a more relaxed, floppy hat, while heavier fabrics paired with firmer interfacing will result in a more structured, defined shape.
Two fusing options are included, allowing you to customise the level of structure in your finished hat.
