Sunhat (Free)
This Sunhat pattern is designed for makers of all levels, especially beginners ready to take the next step into shaping and more structured sewing. With its simple, wearable silhouette and practical design, it’s a versatile accessory for sunny days.
The pattern includes two brim styles so you can choose your preferred look: Style A features a longer brim for extra sun coverage, while Style B offers a shorter, more minimal shape. Optional neck ties are also included, allowing you to add a functional detail or keep the design clean and understated. You can further customise your hat by adding interfacing for more structure or keeping it soft and relaxed depending on your fabric choice.
The Sunhat is part of my 3-part Free Beginner Sewing Series, designed to take you from simple accessories to wearable pieces. Each project builds on the last, creating a natural progression of skills. This project introduces more shaping and precision while still keeping the construction approachable.
