International Women’s Day is a day for global recognition of women and equality. I decided to take this opportunity to create a campaign that celebrates diverse women of varied cultural backgrounds. Highlighting natural beauty across a wide representation of body types. Twelve women, one dress, in five sizes. All non-professional models.

Executing a campaign that calls attention to inclusivity in the fashion industry has been a long time personal goal. Inclusivity is not a new topic and has been gaining more traction in the fashion industry over the last few years.  However, time and time again, brands manufacture in multiple sizes yet never feature their designs outside sizes six to eight or on different ethnicities.

One of my main focuses as a designer is to consider fit, wearability and proportions on different sizes. And being conscious that real women will wear my designs. I know that offering sizes 6 to 14 is not completely inclusive as many women fit outside this standardized sizing, but for TESS JEAN, as a new brand, it’s a starting point. I hope that this campaign is one step of many in forging a more inclusive world in the fashion industry.
